SMOKE 'N' OAKUM (18) won here near the end of August to clear his maiden status by well over a length on a good track. He was racing well enough before that on wet track as well. He resumes from a spell with the blinkers on and from a good draw, can get the job done. JACK BE LUCKY (3) is a very versatile gelding racing very well on the picnic circuit. He has won both of his starts on this track and for a horse that has won 11 times, he is very well placed with only 55kg to carry. Hard to beat. BAD EDUCATION (9) is usually thereabouts and ran on powerfully late at the Sunshine Coast nearly 2 weeks ago to finish third after getting clear room late. Stick with him. QUADE (10) is a progressive gelding who finished sixth over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast last time out after an easy Toowoomba win before that. He drops 3kg and with an extra furlong to travel this time, he should bounce straight back into the money. Each way.
