AZTEC RULER (2) made his Melbourne debut in the G3 Standish Handicap at Flemington and put in an excellent run when just failing to reel in straight track specialist It'sourtime. It was the run of a horse looking for 1400m when coming again late and his Perth form over this trip should hold up nicely. CHORLTON LANE (4) is a consistent type who measured up strongly in the Supernova at Pakenham last time out, only beaten half a length by Here To Shock. He'll need some luck again from the inside gate but if he gets it, he'll go close. COASTWATCH (3) hasn't won in a while but has been going well in some decent races. He can get a good run for Lane here and could break through. JUST FOLK (1) ran well fresh in the Supernova when fourth. Not as well suited at the weights here and staying at 1400m probably isn't ideal, but he's certainly an each way chance. BUFFALO RIVER (5) can give a sight if he turns up at his best.
