Plumpton

Tomorrow, April 21, 2025BumperClass 22m1f

Willie Mullins had a first-time-out bumper winner in these silks at the recent Scottish Grand National meeting and can repeat the feat with EMERALD POET. The chief threat may come from title-rival Dan Skelton newcomer Le Beau Madri. Emerald Lad is another much respected debutant, with General Briar, one of 3 for Chris Gordon, possibly best of those with bumper experience.

Yeats gelding. Dam unraced. Top Irish stable has an outstanding bumper record and he's likely the one to beat, particularly if the betting speaks for him.

€35,000 Beaumec De Houelle gelding. Dam, hurdle/chase winner in France, half-sister to useful hurdler (stayed 3m) One Big Bang. Title-chasing trainer has an excellent bumper record this season.

£40,000 after finishing second in an Irish point in January. The third in that race won a bumper recently. Interesting to see what the betting makes of him.

£55,000 recruit from the Irish point field at the end of 2023. Promise when second in a C&D bumper on Rules debut 8 weeks ago and has the potential for better.

Won on Worcester debut in May 2023. Not seen again until ninth of 14 at Huntingdon last month, looking second or third best until his absence told. Entitled to strip fitter now but jockey booking suggest the stable has stronger candidates elsewhere.
