LE GRAND JEU (1) had no chance with the winner at Toodyay last time out but held down second-place well enough. He could be suited to this tight circuit with the advantage of the pole position and is long overdue for his first win. DESERT SLEEVE (2) improved to run third at Toodyay last start and will be at his peak fitness for this assignment. He has been placed on this course in the past and can take this out. WASN'T ME (3) ran his best race this prep when finishing third at Bunbury 12 days ago and he will find this more to his liking. His only other career placing has come on this circuit and he should be among the hardest to beat from a good draw. THE LYRICIST (7) needed her first run back from a spell and did not help herself by also making a slow beginning. She steps up 400m and only has to make a clean start to be an each-hope in a very even contest.
