Verdict

FORT WILLIAM (8) loomed up to win but found one marginally better when resuming last start over this distance at Traralgon. Scored a tough win at Mornington when second-up last prep. Only needs a bit of luck from the wide gate to take this out. LOAFER (10) is back from an 18-week lay-off. Impressed at the start of last prep over this distance at Echuca then wasn't disgraced at Caulfield at the only other run before being turned out. Progressive filly with the right gate to play a major role. SOLVERE (1) tracked wide on the corner and didn't run on as hoped last time out over 1175m at Albury. Placed 3/4 at this distance so he deserves another chance. JUDGE KELLIE (3) started favourite but got a long way back and never looked likely first-up over 975m at Swan Hill. Goes well second-up so keep her in mind. IMPS (9) is back in grade today and can improve.
