AYE AYE SKIPPER (5) went straight to the lead and defied all challengers last start over 1200m at Walcha. Looks to get his own way in front here so despite being untested at this distance he should prove difficult to run down. HAVIERON (7) put the writing on the wall last time out when he chimed in late to be beaten just half a length in a similar race to this at Ballina. Twice a winner at this stage of the prep - just needs luck from an awkward gate to be in the finish. KEY LEGEND (2) has been difficult to follow of late. Has won recently when ridden in the lead or cold but throws in the odd bad run. Goes well for McGuren and his best form is good enough. LORD VADER (13) worked through the line well at the end of 1200m on the Gold Coast ploy recently. Nicely placed out to this distance third-up. COSMIC FORTUNE (8) disappointed at Ballina last time but is capable of a lot better.
