Plenty are in with a shout but it's hard to side against Dan Skelton's upwardly-mobile DOYEN QUEST who resumed with an excellent second in a big-field Chepstow handicap (form been franked) and still looks ahead of his mark with this longer trip also a likely plus. Gavin Cromwell's new recruit Noble Birth could emerge as the main danger although fellow Irish challenger Zeeband commands plenty of respect for last year's winning yard. In-form duo Gowel Road and Itso Fury can both have a say too.

Likeable sort who signed off last term with gutsy success here in April. Resumed his progress on seasonal return with an excellent second of 17 in handicap at Chepstow (19.4f) 35 days ago. That form has been franked so big shout also stepping up in trip.

A fairly useful 23f hurdles winner for Eric McNamara. Shaped well on his yard debut when third of 12 in handicap chase at Cork (3m) 34 days ago. Usual tongue strap goes back on now and not without interest.

In fine form when last seen out 12 months ago, scoring here and posting a good fourth of 20 in handicap hurdle here (21f). Has won off a break so no forlorn hope despite his long absence.

A dual hurdles winner in the summer who got right back on track when a clear second of 10 in handicap hurdle at Galway (21.9f, good to soft) 21 days ago. Can give another good account for last year's winning yard despite a 7 lb rise.

Successful chaser in France who doubled his career tally when bagging minor event hurdle at Clairefontaine (17.7f) in July. Looked rusty for his new yard when tenth of 13 in handicap hurdle here (19.9f, good) 22 days ago. Can take a step forward now.
